Giving Glasgow’s most recent donation was £1,047 to Glasgow Soup. Glasgow Soup is a crowd funded initiative which hosts events where local people pitch ideas that benefit the community. Attendees at the event then vote on their favourite pitch and the winner receives £500 that night to turn their idea into a reality. The donation will help towards hosting their next event on Thursday 28th September at Calton Heritage & Learning Centre.
Emma Soanes, CEO of Unity (the Scottish Charity who run Glasgow Soup) stated: “We are very proud to host the third Glasgow Soup event, continuing its journey and helping the community support local projects. Glasgow Soup happens thanks to the collective efforts of a dedicated team, supported this year by a generous donation from our friends at Glasgow Credit Union. This support is vital and will help us put on the best event yet! We encourage anyone who is passionate about the community to come along. Great people, inspiring pitches, delicious soup – and all for a fiver. What’s not to love?”
