Glasgow Credit Union - home improvements

Giving Glasgow – our £30,000 charitable giving fund – has made another donation. The children and families at Bonnybroom Nursery School have been learning how to plant and grow healthy foods with our donation to their greenspace project. Head Teacher at Bonnybroom Claire McLauchlan told us:

“Glasgow Credit Union’s donation helped us to buy children’s gardening tools and seeds to create an edible garden at the nursery. We welcome in the parents and families of our pupils to learn about sustainability and healthy eating, and many of them have gone on to put their newly learned skills to good use at home in their own gardens. Not only has the credit union helped inspire the children and their families to become more green-fingered, it has also enabled us to provide low cost soup, salad and vegetable packs to the local community, along with information on how to eat well for less.”

Giving Glasgow helps improve the lives of Glaswegians, and provide support to grassroots organisations throughout the city. Whilst we are here to help our members buy homes, achieve their goals, and make the most of their money through competitive loans, mortgages and savings products, by choosing Glasgow Credit Union, members help us achieve our wider aims – to make the city a better place socially and financially.

Chief Executive June Walker said: “Working with organisations like Bonnybroom Family Support helps us make a real difference at the heart of the communities our members live in. It’s extremely rewarding to know that not only does the credit union make a difference to individual members’ lives through financial empowerment, but that we also help create positive social impact throughout the city, for everyone who lives here.”
