Giving Glasgow Donation

Geeza Break provides support and flexible respite services to parents and children, predominately within the north east of Glasgow. The service supports families affected by mental health issues, family breakdowns, domestic abuse, addiction issues, stress, disability, limited parenting skills and relative poverty. Lockdown restrictions have left many of their families struggling over the past few months, due to lack of social interaction and support.

The charity received a £900 donation from Giving Glasgow which will be used to offer home activity respite sessions, where children with disabilities will be cared for in their own home by a fully trained sitter. The sitters will provide fun activity sessions in the home or take the child out to a local park. This service can be provided during the day, evenings, and weekends for up to 4 hours per session. For those caring for a child with disabilities or multiple support needs, a few hours respite can be a god send.
