Every year, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (GCHC) supports thousands of families and the children who are treated at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.
For many, the stress of having a child in hospital also has financial implications, including the cost of travel to and from appointments. With COVID-19 already impacting people’s finances and limiting the availability of public transport, many families are struggling to cover the increased cost of attending hospital appointments. GCHC received a £2,300 donation from Giving Glasgow to help them provide financial hardship grants to these families and they will also use the funds to purchase age-appropriate activity packs for around 250 patients.
