AddzUp

"Savings made easy at Glasgow Secondary Schools!"

The AddzUp Account from Glasgow Credit Union allows your child to save money at their leisure in a hassle free manner.

To make deposits, your child simply swipes their Young Scot Card (National Entitlement version) or AddzUp Save-for-it card in the AddzUp machine and deposits the amount they want to save. This can be anything from change from lunch to birthday money, as the machine accepts both coins and notes.

Visit the AddzUp web site for more information!

The AddzUp Account from Glasgow Credit Union offers many benefits to you and your child:

  • AddzUp helps to both educate your child on financial awareness and encourage them into a savings ethos which will continue into adulthood.
  • The accessibility of the AddzUp machines makes it so much easier to save as your child does not have to take time away from having fun to make deposits, and better still, you don’t have to do it for them!
  • An annual dividend is paid on your child’s savings, really helping our members’ savings to grow! So the more your child saves, the more they will make!
  • GCU is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. We are also part of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. This ensures that members’ savings are protected at 100% for the first £50,000.

Who can join?

Any child at a participating school (click here for details of which schools currently offer AddzUp) can join Addzup. Children can use their Glasgow Young Scot Card (National Entitlement version) to save.  If your child does not yet hold a card, they can visit www.glasgow.gov.uk/youth to sign up.  Alternatively, they can apply for an AddzUp Save-for-it card.

How to join

To join, your child simply completes and returns the Glasgow Credit Union AddzUp Account membership application form, available from school, and then starts saving.
